Situated on a secluded peninsula facing the Perito Moreno Glacier. A refuge in direct dialogue with the moving ice. Nothing added, nothing forced. A rare place to experience Patagonia from its most primal frontier.
Moreno Camp
At the World’s Quiet Edge.
THE STATEMENT
What Remains When You Remove the Noise

Integrated into the biome
Perito Moreno is not scenery. It’s a presence.
Moreno Camp is located on the Península de las Colonias. Our eco-domes follow the terrain instead of reshaping it. Elevated walkways connect spaces without compacting the soil, inviting you to feel wind, weather, and forest air with every step. Architecture doesn’t interrupt the landscape; it moves with it.

The rare few
Moreno Camp is for those who are comfortable with distance. Guests who understand that isolation can be generous, and that attention grows when noise falls away. People who travel to observe rather than consume, to stay long enough for the place to speak first. A small circle, drawn to restraint, clarity, and the kind of presence that only vast landscapes invite.

The Unusual Path
This peninsula is not an endpoint.
It’s a beginning. Every dome faces Glacier Perito Moreno, not as a spectacle, but as an orientation. You wake, rest, and move with the ice always in view, a reminder of time unfolding beyond urgency. From here, exploration starts slowly, on foot, by water, or simply by staying still.
Luxury Accommodations in Patagonia
Eco-Domes Facing Perito Moreno Glacier
Set on a secluded peninsula, our private eco-domes are oriented toward Perito Moreno Glacier. Each one is designed to leave no trace, resting lightly on the land and responding to the terrain rather than reshaping it. This is Patagonia at its most deliberate: low-impact by design, essential in every choice. A place for travelers who seek proximity without intrusion, and presence without excess.
GLACIER VIEW DOMES
At Moreno Camp, every dome faces the same horizon. There are no categories or upgrades. Each private eco-dome is oriented toward Perito Moreno Glacier, with the native forest creating natural separation between units and a sense of privacy throughout the camp. Waking up to the ice is not a feature. It’s the baseline.
Each dome is elevated to protect the soil and operates with its own biodigester, treating water on site. Inside, comfort is simple and considered: a queen bed, a wood-burning stove, and a full private bathroom with a hot shower made for recovery after long days outdoors. The camp runs fully off-grid, powered by solar energy. High-consumption devices are intentionally excluded, preserving energy, silence, and pace. With 30 square meters of space, domes host two or three guests in a shelter where glacier, wind, and light become part of daily life.

ICE HIKE
To understand the scale of Perito Moreno, you have to step onto it. This guided excursion crosses Brazo Rico by boat and leads you onto the glacier itself, where ice, light, and movement shape every step. A moderate trek with high emotional impact, designed for those who want a direct encounter with the glacier rather than a distant view.
Difficulty: Moderate | Duration: Half Day

PIONEERS
A rare way to approach the glacier. Navigate beneath the towering ice walls of Perito Moreno, then land in an untouched lenga forest for a guided walk. The experience closes with a sunset visit to the National Park walkways, after the crowds have left, when the glacier returns to its own rhythm.
Boat navigation + guided walk | Half Day

LAGO ROCA FISHING
Fly fishing or spinning in the clear, cold waters of Lago Roca. A quiet experience shaped by waiting, reading the water, and moving slowly through the landscape. Less about the catch, more about the time spent where few linger.

Plan Your Journey to The Perito Moreno Glacier
Planning a trip to the Perito Moreno Glacier means traveling to the edge of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, one of the world’s most impressive reserves of fresh water. Below, you’ll find clear, honest guidance for those who care about time, intention, and the land they’re entering.
Best Time to Visit Patagonia
Patagonia is shaped by seasons, contrasts, and change. That’s part of what defines it. The best time to visit Moreno Camp is from October to April, when the days stretch longer, the forest is awake, and the temperature allows for extended trekking on the ice.
- Spring (Oct-Nov): The ice sheds its winter layer, and the Lenga forest turns green.
- Summer (Dec-Feb): The warmest days, ideal for witnessing the active calving (ice breaking) of the glacier walls.
- Autumn (Mar-Apr): The landscape turns into a palette of red and ochre, offering a stunning contrast against the blue ice.
WHERE IS MORENO CAMP & THE GLACIER?
The Perito Moreno Glacier is the centerpiece of the southern sector of Los Glaciares National Park. Unlike the town of El Calafate (which is a hub), Moreno Camp is located on the secluded Península de las Colonias. We are situated directly facing the Brazo Rico and the monumental South Face of the glacier, 70 km away from the city lights. To stay here is to sleep inside the protected landscape, not just visit it.
HOW TO GET TO EL CALAFATE & THE CAMP?
Fly into El Calafate Airport (FTE). From there, the journey to the camp is different from the typical tourist route. A scenic 80-minute drive along Route 11 and Route 15 leads you away from the town and into the wild steppe and forest. As you approach the Península de las Colonias, the vegetation thickens, and the first glimpses of the ice field appear on the horizon long before you arrive at your dome.
THE GLACIER’S WEATHER
The weather near the ice field creates its own microclimate. It is famously unpredictable. Wind, sun, clouds, and sudden clarity can all appear in a single afternoon. Temperatures during our season range from 5°C to 18°C, but the wind from the glacier can make it feel cooler. Layers are essential. Flexibility, even more so. Do not fight the weather; inhabit it.
